The Heart and Stroke Foundation of PEI is a volunteer-based health charity that leads in eliminating heart disease and stroke through the advancement of research and its application, the promotion of healthy living, and advocacy. All the money raised at the Mike Clark Memorial tournament will help to fund health promotion and awareness work right here on PEI.

• Heart disease and stroke are the leading causes of death for Canadians.
• Stroke is the forth leading cause of death in Canada and the leading cause of adult neurological disability
• In the Maritimes we have a higher than national average of deaths from heart disease and stroke.
• About 200 Islanders will have a stroke this year.
• 60% will be left with some kind of disability
